Cabbage Pachadi/Chutney



Ingredients :
Cabbage - 2 cups or 1/4 kg (finely chopped)
Tomatoes - 2 (Medium size,chopped)
Green Chillies - 4
Oil - 3 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
Red chillies - 3
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Garlic Cloves - 5
Salt - to taste
For seasoning/tampering:
Red chillies - 3
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Chana dal - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 10-12
Asafoetida/Hing - pinch (optional)


Procedure:
1. Heat pan ,add cumin seeds ,mustard seeds,coriander seeds,urad dal  and chana dal .fry them(without oil) on a medium flame for 3 - 5 mins or till they turn in to light brown colour. Then add red chillies and fry for a min.Take out the ingredients ,keep aside and let them cool.once cooled,grind it to a mixture.
2. Heat pan with 3 tsp oil ,add cabbage and fry on a low flame until it becomes soft.Add tomato and cook it till it becomes soft.Let it cool .Grind it with spice mixure of step 1 along with garlic,green chilli,salt
3. Now heat the pan and add 2 tsp oil,mustard seeds,cumin seeds,chana dal, urad dal, red chillies , curry leaves ,asafoetida and fry it. 
4. Now add the above seasoning to grinded cabbage chutney.
Note:You can also use 3 tsp tamarind pulp instead of tomato.
